UK helps remove more than 120 chemical “bomb making” instructions from the Internet

More than 120 articles readily available to international terrorists showing them how to make chemical bombs have been removed from the Internet.

Britain was one of 17 countries targeting left-wing, right wing, and Jihadists using dangerous chemicals.

A few “every day” industrial chemicals used in manufacturing processes could be mixed and turned into terror weapons.

Europol’s Counter Terrorism Centre is now removing “bomb making instructions” being easily available on line.

After the meeting in The Hague this week Europol said:

“Investigators scoured the clear and dark web to find and refer for removal propaganda and instructions on the use of high-risk chemicals, and the toxic gases they generate, in terrorist material and online fora.

“As a result, more than 120 individual pieces of content were referred to 21 online service providers to secure their swift removal.

“The content covered five languages and was disseminated by terrorist supporting networks, including jihadist, right-wing and left-wing terrorist groups.

“The findings will feed into the analysis of the current threat picture on high-risk chemicals in the impact assessment produced by the European Commission.”

The participating countries were:

Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Colombia, Czechia, Denmark, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Luxembourg, Moldova, Montenegro, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Spain, the United Kingdom.
