US kayaker who faked own death thought to have fled to Europe

US police have appealed for a missing man to come back home for Christmas with his family.

Ryan Borgwardt went missing from Wisconsin in August, prompting a search for him.

But he has since sent a video suggesting he is alive in November. He did not say where he was but police think he is in eastern Europe.
