The partner of a Just Stop Oil protester jailed for climbing the Dartford Crossing fears he will be deported.
German born Marcus Decker, 34, was jailed after he caused traffic chaos for miles – gridlocking the road system.
Decker recently lost an appeal against the length of his two years and seven months sentence.
Now, his partner Holly Cullen-Davies has started a petition to stop him being deported.
So far it has 124,000 signatures.
Ms Cullen-Davies said:
“As if such a high prison sentence was not bad enough, Marcus is now being threatened with deportation.
“If deported, he would be separated from us, his family, his home, community and adopted country.
“Marcus has already been separated from us for seven months and now he might never come home again.
“Marcus put his own liberty and body on the line for those suffering from the climate crisis.
“But he is more than just an activist – anyone that knows Marcus knows he is a gentle, thoughtful, and compassionate human being who would only act proportionately to the crisis we all face.
“Every day could now be the day that the dreaded letter from the Home Office arrives.
“Marcus will then have 20 days to appeal the deportation decision.”
Decker was jailed with fellow activist Morgan Trowland, 40.
When Decker and Trowland were sentenced on April 21, Judge Collery KC said:
“You have to be punished for the chaos you caused and to deter others from copying you.”
