Former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman has returned to the studios to record a track for the band’s latest album.
Wyman was the Stones’ bass player for three decades before leaving in 1993.
The ageing rocker – he’s now 86 years old – agreed to play on the untitled album as a tribute to the band’s late drummer Charlie Watts.
Watts had also recorded tracks for the album.
A Stones’ insider told The Sun:
“Bill hasn’t seen the band together for years, but always loved Charlie.
“This record’s really a tribute to Charlie, so he couldn’t say no.”
It’s reported that former Beatle Paul McCartney will also play bass on the album.
The album will mark the Stones’ first new studio effort of new material written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards since 2005’s A Bigger Bang.
